What is Business metrics?
Business metrics is a free website from Arnali, Inc. that helps owners check whether a business is financially healthy. You type in the figures you already have — revenue, costs, cash, rent, debt — and the site calculates every ratio those numbers support, compares them with industry ranges, and explains the result in plain English. There is no account and no upload to our servers.
Does the site store my financial data?
No. Calculations run in your browser. We do not create a server database of your inputs. A draft can stay in this browser’s local storage so you are not staring at blanks when you return — that file stays on your device. Save Session still downloads a JSON file you control. Advertisers never receive what you type into a calculator.
Do I need a complete set of books to use it?
No. Every field is optional, and the form is not blank when you arrive. We pre-fill a typical profile for the concept (coffee shop, full-service restaurant, duplex, and so on) and scale it for the market we guess from your ZIP or network location. A cafe owner who only knows last month’s sales still overwrites revenue and leaves the rest. Add labor and you get prime cost. The site calculates what it can and tells you which extra fact would unlock the next ratio.
How is this different from a spreadsheet template?
A blank spreadsheet still asks you to remember formulas, pick benchmarks, and interpret the output. Business metrics ships the formulas, the industry ranges we use for status labels, and coaching written for owners and for the vocabulary a lender or partner might use. You can export Excel if you want a file; you do not have to build the model first.
Do I have to type every number myself?
No. Each calculator opens with a typical profile — for example a coffee shop with about 22 seats and a revenue guess scaled for your area. Change the concept (cafe vs full-service), size, or ZIP, and unedited fields refill. Anything you type is marked Yours and is kept in this browser. Typicals are not a census of real businesses at that ZIP.
Are the results accounting, tax, or lending advice?
No. Outputs are educational estimates. Benchmarks are directional ranges, not a grade from your CPA or a credit decision from a bank. Always verify figures against your own records and talk with a qualified professional before you price a menu, sign a lease, or apply for a loan.
How do we keep the calculators free?
The site is ad-supported. Display ads help pay for hosting and maintenance. Ads are based on page topic, not on the numbers you enter. Details are in the Privacy Policy. The calculators themselves stay free and do not require a credit card.
